Universal Epidiascope Model FT
The Universal Epidiascope Model FT is an instrument of high
educational value, widely adopted in primary as well as in higher
and technical school. instruction. By means of this instrument, all
types of pictures, diagrams, books, printed matters, atlases, etc.
may be projected. Microscopic specimens and slides which cannot be
clearly observed by naked eye may also be projected and magnified
so that they could be obviously seen by hundreds of spectators.

1. The Universal Epidiascope Model Ft is of higher efficiency than
ordinary projection. For general direct projections, only a 50OW
lamp is necessary, yet fine details of little tiny objects can
be clearly observed.
2. Carefully constructed throughout in every mechanical detail, this
Epidiascope is made in an unusually attractive appearance. A cool-
ing fan is equipped which may safeguard valuable books, pictures,
etc. from being burnt. Owing to its high degree ofheat dissipation,
the lifetime of light bulb may also be greatly prolonged.
3. Serving the purpose of projecting images in lecture rooms or labo-
ratories within the distance of 3 meters, this instrument saves
the trouble of the staff to go to the very back of the room to
effect projection. Nor need the students look to the back. Hence
teaching efficiency is considerably increased.
4. The Plane Reflection attachment can project images of small objects
so that details indiscernable by the naked eye may J)e observed.
This is an advantage that provides invaluable assistance in quali-
ty inspections as well as in physical and chemical lecturep,
5. The main body of the instrument may be freely adjusted forward or
backward and a device is also provided for adjusting the episcope
stage to suit books or other projected specimens of different
thickness.
6. For all demonstrating apparatus that do not give visions clear
enough, this Universal Epidiascope may be adapted so as to obtain
distince images through projection,

Model of "Hou Feng" Seismoscope. A copy of the invention of the astronomer Chang Heng of
Han dynasty. Around a metal barrel are evenly distributed eight dragons with their heads turning to eight
different directions, while .under them, are placed eight open-mouthed toads, with their heads lifted up.
Each dragon holds a bead in its mouth. In the middle of the barrel stands a stick of less gravitational
stability. When a certain direction gets quaked, the stick falls on its opposite, and hits a spring on the
dragon's head, and thus drives the bead out of the dragon's mouth to fall into the mouth of the toad
underneath.

Description
This Impact Machine serves the purpose of determining impact strength of
materials. Its special features are simple construction, easy handling and reliable per-
formance. Test is done by means of a pendulum hammer which strikes on the work
piece from a given height. After having fractured the specimen, part of the kinetic

energy swings the hammer to the other side of the machine and from the height
of this residual swing, the energy spent in breaking the workpiece can be determin-
ed. With axis supported on ball bearing, the pendulum can be adjusted in different
height of 16 grades varying directly with the amount of energy required in the test.
The apparatus should be set up on a concrete pedestal.
