He could not describe the area from memory, but stated that the block diagram shown at these coordi- nates on the map of NEISSE (WEST), Poland, 1:25,000, sheet 5569, AMS Series M841 was correct as shown since the area had not been damaged during or since WW II. Using the diagram, he stated that facing the barracks area from the NYSA- KLODZKO highway, to the left of the barracks there was an area that ran along the road about 150 m in which he saw about 20 tanks, types unknown. The rear row of buildings were four-story barracko The buildings were made of brick which was faced with a light yellow stucco (tynk). Roofs were sloped 60 degrees and were covered with red tile shingles. Around the area there was an iron picket fence with pickets set too close to permit a person to slip through. Entrance to the area was between the two center build- ings of the eight facing the highway. To the left of this entrance there was a one-man guard shack in which stood an armed sentry. The shack was painted in red and white stripes about four to six inches wide, beveled from the center of each wall downward to the facings.
