resulting from levelling work and railroad construction
activities vas dumped into Wulvits Lake located east
of the plant, filling it up 25 to 30 percent. The railroad
line from Rheinsberg to the- plant was completed and put into
service in late.Aprril 1958. Road construction betveen
Greases and 24ns was progressing. Concreting
work on this road was completed as far as the bridge crossing
the Polsaw Canal near. Mans. Stasensr street leading from this
point to the atomic plant was being provided with a one-lane
concrete surface in late April 1958.?

Sr. Franke of ITB (Ingenieur>Tiefbau-Brandenburg)
was supervisor of the building activities during the time
under observation.
At a meeting with the manager of Energie-
Pro 1ektierung 8s:?linsit was learlyd that the first
construction stage would be completed in late 1961. In order
to attain this-goal, the members of the were
were
obliged to do regular overtime work. It was iermore
announced that the plant is to serve large-scale experimental
work rather than serve econae.o purposes. On the. grounds of
the experience gained future atomic power plants will be
built. On the other hand information gained from employees
and management indicated that the* deadline for completion
of the.plant has been postponed from 1960 to 1964 in view of
the difficulties arising. After his return from l4oecow,
along with the delegates Plaahowaky, Sohibiilla and
Breitenwincher, of VE8 Energie-Projektierung Berlin, Schneider*
announced that ten more power reactors are to be built in
the GDR W 1970.

Cooling mater is taken from Nehmitsseea > Waste water is
discharged into Stechlinseeer-^ the water returning to
Nehmitzsee , along a canal connecting both lakes,, Since
the volume of water of Stechl.inaee, = .is Inadequate, it
is intended to provide i"resh watea~v f'yrom Muer i tzeee,
Koelpinsee and Plauersei = to -Stechlinsee F^' at a.
rate of 0,6 cubic meters/ sec. Since all these lades. are
lacking of water in firms of drought, the only solution
would be providing water from the Peeve River via
Maichinersee [ j by pumping it o -er the watershed.
