Details Sariwwn City Plan 1. As'a result of the NK reorganization of the NK administrative districts, Sari%una4 (Pre-RO) was promoted to the sta us of a city as the seat of the provincial goverment for Hwanghae-bukto. 2. Sariw~n was completely destroyed during the Korean War. Following the Armistice, however, with the mobilization of the citizens of Sariw4n and the Hwanghae-bukto Trust, schools, public institutions, official residences, means of transportations, bridges, enterprise stations, and factories have been restored or newly built, with the civilian residences reconstructed by-the owners themselves, 3. The population of Sariwwn has increased to 180,000 as compared with 80,000 prior to the Korean liar, the cause of this. increase being the mass immigration of farmers from the mountainous districts of HamgyIhg- bukto, Chagang-do, and Kangw~n-do, under Government plans, executed during the famine years in NK. The great majority of the citizens in Sariwwn are farmers. 4. The office is 20 meters long, ten (l0) meters wide, and five (5) meters high, and the garage is 60 meters long, 15 meters wide, and seven (7) meters high. For example, the truck, of which Subject was the driver,, was. numbered 2454. 23) Sariwih Market: The market is surrounded by a board fence, 200 rieters long, 200 meters tide, and two (2) meters high, pierced by three entrance gates on north, south; and east. The shops inside the market are built of boards, mostly national shops with few private shops. There are about 150 or 200 private.venders,?-ttho squat inside the market and sell Korean cakes and noodles. The shop keepers generally deal in such goods as fish, vegetables, grains, grocery, furniture, clothing materials, and second hand clothing, and-prices are same both at the national and private shops. The private dealers in clothing materials buy labor commodity ration goods at cheap prices and sell them at'higher prices in retail business.
