age; and placement of unidentified containers on the stern of the T-54.
The report is essentially an explanation of the sketches.

1. T34/84
Since the beginning of April, 1959, all T34/859 passing through
the workshops have been equipped with two additional supplementary fuel
tanks, bringing the total number of tanks per AFV to five, The two
additional tanks are fitted to the stern of the vehicle.
2. Headlamps - T34/85 and SU-100.
Since the 5th April, 1959, T34/85s and 3U-100s have been fitted
with two headlamps instead of one as previou:nly. The lan:,ps are
positioned on either side of the AFV at the height of the first track
wheel. The headlamp on the starboard side is shaded as shown in
Appendix "A" Fig. 1.
3. Gun Support. T34/85.
During the month of April, 1959, two of the T34/850 coming to
the workshop for repair were fitted with a gun support as sketched in
Appendix "A" Fig. 2. Tho support was fitted on the str.:rn and could
be folded to the rear. The construction and fittin.., of the support
were very primitive and the welding badly done. The gums of the
vohicles wore of the normal pattern.
4. P54 - Angle between Cl:;cis Plate f nd Lower Nosoi;late.
See Appendix "B" Fig. 1. This angle measures 62.
5. T51 - Internal fittings.
(a) 4 x 12 volt, 120 Tamp/h. accumulators are fitted in a
carrier situated on the right of the drivers' po.iitioz, ? s sh.,+rn
in the sketch. The accumulators are positioned in two p&irs
vertically above each other in the lon,itudina1 axis of the
vehicle. (See Appendix "B" Fig. 2A).
(b) Shell Stowagee (See Appendix "B" Fig. 213).

Three internal fuol tanks have boon soon in the T.54s
i) Is situated between the enoino ind the cabin partition
wall and its length is identical with the width of the
vehicle. The tank is sketched at Appendix "B" Pig.2C.
ii) The tank sketched at Appendix "B" Fig. 2D is situated
high up oz; the inside of the port side plate at the
rear of the AFV.
iii) The tank sketched at Appendix "B" Fig;. 28 is situated
in front of the ammunition stowage in the bow of the
tank.
6. 3uvelenentau Fug: i Tanks.
Three flat external su1plementary fuel tanks are fitted as
standard equipment to the T54 and are connected by fu3l-linos to the
internal tanks as followes
(a) One tank (Appendix "B" Fig. 2F) is on the port side
above the fifth trackcwheel and is mounted on the track-guard.
This tank is connocted to tank 2D described above.
(b) Two tanks (Appendix "1" Fig. 2G) are mounted on the
track-guard above the fourth and fifth'brsokwheels on the
starboard side, and are connected to the tank 2C daacrihod
above.
7. On one occasion during the period under review two large
containers as shown in Appendix "C" were seen fitted to the stern
of a T54 after it had passed through the repair workshop and was in
the shed in which final inspections are carried out by the Technical
Control Officer. The. ccmtainure appeared to be mado of iluminium
and were fitted on two esoioireular arackets at the stor-i of the AF'V.
The size of each container is assessed as bc,twoon 1 and 1.2 metres
in lc:nvth and 50 to 60 M. in diameter.
