1. Attached at Ap,?endix 'Al i a sketch ivinS an approxiriate layout
of the Ordnance Depot, BIESENT"iIAL The depot is on the site of a 50X1-HUM
former factory and is still kno%m locally as the ROLANDT VERKE. It lies Vi
of the railway line from BERLIN to EBERSVLALDE, and S of the road from
BIESENTIIAL to GRISNTAL.
2. Key to the sketch is as follows:
1. 4 x Soviet manned watchtowers, one at each corner of the depot.
2. iyain entrance to the depot, permanently ,ruarded by Soviet sentries.
3.
The mL;in part of an L-shaped buildin;, occupied by Soviet troops and
serving as accommodation for troops within the depot.
4. The shorter le- of the L-shaped building & housing the telephone
e..chanre of the depot.
5. Two la.r,;e, open,-sided wooden sheds in which guns were parked on
20.5.60.
6. Two woodonsheds. The one nearer the railway line is used for coil
storae.
7. A lar;;o, open-sided wooden ..Sara a in which trucks were parked on
20.5.60.
8. Two parallel ston3 buildin,,s. ?t is not known what they are used
for.
9. A stone block providirk3 accommodation for Soviot officers and families.
10. A shed in which some 12 x workshop trucks were parked on 20.5.60.
11. Three lar;o stone baildings, standing in line, which were the wain
f :etory buildings of the former 1;OLAIIDT ;7E"i2110,. They are used as
;orkshops by the Soviets.
12. The chimney of the former factory.
13. Two buildin;s on the depot side of IEELLVIIG strosse which are still
occupied by German civilian families.
14. A telephone line which runs from the telephone exchange out of the
depot. It consists of 8 wires runnin;, over one cross-traverse.
Of those wires 4 run to BIESEITTIIAL PEAL deDot~ and ',. to

15. Another telephone line which runs from the telephone excha.n.;e out
of the depot. It consists of 16 wires, of which 8 run over each
of 2 cross-traverses, and runs to a distributor post
(Varteilerrnast) at MELCHOVI.
3. Total occupation of the depot is estimated at some 250 Soviets.
4. Houses at Nos. 104, 105 and 106, Bahnhofstr. BIESENTIIAL, which runs
along the N side of the depot, are occupied by Soviet officers and belong to
the depot.
5. Troops in the depot wear Arty badges.
