The following reports on trolley bus routes in Tashkent, miscellaneous
Tashkent town plan information, new construction at the Cable Plant
Tashkent, and the Communications Institute in Tashkent
1. The report on trolley bus routes provides a detailed description of each of,
the nine routes in Tashkent and individual map overlays of these routes.
2. The miscellaneous town plan information report briefly describes and locates
a Communist Party school, Sredneaziiatski Gosadarstven r Universitet
(Central Asian State University), the Elektromekhanicheskiy Tekhnikum
(Electro-mechanical tbbkiuiikm , the TAshtyurma (Tashkent jail), and a former
military school for Greeks in Tashkent.
The report on new construction at the Cable Plant in Tashkent briefly
describes the construction of a new building and locates it in a sketch of
the plant area.
4. The brief report on the Communications Institute appears to be a rather
inaccurate general description of the physical layout and location of the
civilian communications school in Tashkent.

Routes of Trolley buses in Tashkent

The city of Tashkent. Uzbek SSR., had nine trolley bus routes.
When not in use the trolley buses were
parked on the western side of ulitsa Tarasa Shevchenko, on the northern
side of the intersection of ulitsa Tarasa Shevchenko and ulitsa Chekovaol
The routes taken by these trolley buss are 50X1-HUM
described below a own on the rays on pages through 11
All of the streets had asphalt surfaces and were 50X1-HUM
between 15 and 20 meters wi eo nrolley buses travelled their same
routes back to their starting points,
1, Trolley bus route No. 1 started at the Tashkent railroad station and
went up ulitsa Tarasa Shevchenko to the Nosey Iskusstva, where it
turned left and followed Proletarskaya ulitsa to Skver Revolyutsii;
from Skver Revolyutsii the route turned right, completing a semicircle
before it turned right again to follo.:a ulitsa Engel'sa to ulitsa Stalina,
From ulitsa Stalina the route turned right on ulitsa Lenin, left on
ulitsa Lakhuti (which later became Proepekt Navoi), and right at
Komsomol'skaya Floshchad4 to follow u_5_tsa Khanzy as far as Ploshchad'
Iski-Dzhuva, the end of the line, (The ovi.rlayy on page 3 shows this
route)-,

2. Trolley bus route No, 2 began at the Tashkent Textile Combine and went
up ulitsa Bogdana Khmel'nitskogo to Ploschad' Besh-Agach, where it
turned left to follow ulitsa Furkata as far as Komsomol'skaya Ploshchad',
From this square the route continued along ulitsa Khamzy to Ploshchad'
Iski-Dzhuva, turned right on ulitsa Sabina Rakhimova, and turned right
again onto Turk-Kurganskaya ulitsa, which it followed to the end of the
line, about 100 meters west of Poligraficheskaya ulitsa, (See page 4 ),
3. Trolley bus route No, 3 started at Ploshchad'esh Agach and went south
on ulitsa hogdana Khmel'nitskogo as far as the Frunze Memorial, where
it turned left onto Pedagogicheskaya ulitsa, following this street and
several others as far as the I:uzey Iskasstva9
From the museum the route turned left onto Proletarskaya ulitsa to go
to Skver Revolyutsii, where it turned right onto ulitsa Pushkina, which
it followed to the end of the line at Ploshchad' Pushkina, also called
Ursat'yevskaya Ostanovka, (See page 5 ).
4Q Trolley bus route No, 4'started at Ploshchad' Ekskavatornogo Zavoda
and travelled to Ploshchad' Pushkina,
from where it turned right on ulitsa Pushkina, right on ulitsa Stalina,
right on ulitsa Lenina, left on ulitsa Lakhuti (which later became
Prospekt Navoi) to Komsomol'skaya Ploshchad', and right on ulitsa Khamzy
to Ploshchad' Iski-Dzhuva and the end of the line. (See page 6 )o
5, Trolley bus route No. 5 started at the Tashkent railroad station and
went up ulitsa Tarasa Shevchenko to ulitsa Chekova, after which it
turned right on ulitsa Chekova (which later became ulitsa Zhukovskogo)
and right on ulitsa Pushkina, which it followed as far as Ploshchad'
Pushkina, where it turned left to travel
to the end of the route at Ploshchad' Ekskavatornogo Zavoda

6, Trolley bus route No, 6 began where route No. 2 ended, on Turk-Kurganskaya
ulitsa about 100 meters west of Poligraficheskaya ulitsa, and went east
to Poligraf"idheskaya ulitsa, where it turned left, going as far as
Kislovodskaya ulitsa, which the route followed to the end of the line
at the Second Greek Settlement, (See page 8.,)
7. Trolley bus route No. 7 started at Ploshchad' Besh Agach, went down
ulitsa T3ogdana Khmel'nitskogo about 100 meters, and turned right around
the southern perimeter of Park Komsomol'skoye Ozero onto ulitsa
Chilanzar, which it travelled down to ulitsa Mukimi, where it turned
left onto ulitsa Shota Rustaveli and the end of the line. (See page 9
Trolley bus route No. 8'started at Komsomol.'skaya Ploshchad', went west
on Prospekt Navoi for two stops, and turned right on ultisa Manona Uygura,
which it followed to the end of its line at School No. 111, which was
about two kilometers past the trolley circle which was the end of the
line for trolley car Noo 7, (See page 1.0)
9. Trolley bus route No. 9 began:, like route No. 7, at Ploshchad' Besh-Agach
and went down ulitsa Chilanzar, which it travelled for three or four
stops past ulitsa Mukimi before coming to tie end of its line,,, This
route was started in early 1960, (See page 11)
