SS-20 WARHEAD CANISTERS IN THE USSR (TSR)
II I. (TSR) Since 1977, two types of SS 20 warhead canisters have been seen at the
at seven of the SS-20 mobile bases, the Kapustin Yar Missile Receiving/Instrunienta-
uon/Storage Area and the Serpukhov SSM Engineering/Training Facility

Mozyr, and Serpukhov. The presence of these two types of canisters at SS-20-associated facilities
suggests that the smaller canister is probably for individual warheads and the larger canister is
probably for the entire SS-20 payload package.
3. (TSR) Further analysis has also revealed that the three objects reported as possible SS-20
warhead canisters at Mozyr on are small single-axle generator trailers
(TSR) All available KEYHOLE imagery acquired through
preparation of this report.
