COMMENT: The only difference between the HMBA-01 (ATADS) advanced tactical air defense
system I trans loader and an EP?1BA- 01 (ATADS) TELAR (See PI Notice 40-77) is that
the tubular mast with attached radar has been removed from the TELAR and replaced
with a telescoping crane mounted on a turntable. The base of the crane is located
slightly further to the rear of the vehicle chassis than the tubular mast was on the
TELAR. It is almost impossible to differentiate the transloader from the TELAR if it
is canvas covered or ha.-, its full cQml2lement of four canisters mounted on the vehicle.
The canvas covered vehicle above the transloader should be readout as a EMBA-01 (ATADS)
