COMMENT: (S) The PUCARA IA-58, Argentina's first indigenously produced military aircraft,
has gone into production and is currently being deployed with the Ar engine Air Forces
in a counterinsur2en.cy role. The PUCARA has an overall length of a 25X1
wingspan of a height of and is similar in design to the 2.Lbx'I
U.S. OV-l0 BRONCO.
(S) The key features of the PUCARA IA-58 are its twin engine, low mounted wing
configuration, T-shaped tail, and tapered nose. The PUCARA IA-58 is currently found
only in Argentina, but the Argentine government is planning to produce an export model
in which Mauritania, Togo, Bolivia, South Africa, Nicaragua, and Peru have already
expressed interest. 25X1
