ARGO Chronology
7 November 1966 Preliminary proposal by and
DCI for a review of existing satellite photography
by civilian agency teams to determine its usefulness
for economic, social, and material resource surveys.
Agreement in principle by DoD, 7 December 1966 and
by DCI, 13 December 1966; Mr. Lundahl to meet with
26 January 1967
to work out plans for the program.

orientation period, which will begin at NPIC; Phase
II, an examination of areas in South America of
particular interest to AID; and Phase III, a study
of the usefulness of the material for the individual
agency interests.

at Project ARGO facility at
