(S/D) The first FENCER A deployment in the Central Asia Militar y District, USSR, was identified at Iliysk Airfield Sout en FENCER A were observed-seven on the main parking apron, one in the maintenance area (Figure I), and two involved in flight operations. None of the FENCER A had fuel tanks mounted under the wings. Normally, FENCER observed in transit are equipped with wing-mounted fuel tanks. Nineteen BREWER aircraft were parked on a small graded-earth portion of the main parking apron. These aircraft normally occupy the dispersal areas. 2. (S/D) Iliysk Airfield South was the last airfield in the Soviet Union to house only a BREWER bomber regiment. It is approximately 120 nautical miles west of the Sino-Soviet Border.
