SIGNIFICANCE: THIS BRIEFING BOARD SHOWS THE STRIKE DAMAGE INFLICTED UPON THE KHANG KHAI MILITARY HEADQUARTERS AND BARRACKS PATHET LAO FORCES. 2. REMARKS : THIS INSTALLATION WAS FIRST SUBJECTED TO AN AIR STRIKE IN JUNE 1964 AND WAS MOST RECENTLY STRUCK ON 20 NOVEMBER 1965. 3. LOCATION: KHANG KHAI MILITARY HEADQUARTERS AND BARRACKS PATHET LAO FORCES IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY TWELVE NM NORTHWEST OF XIENG KHOUANG AND ONE NM NORTHEAST OF KHANG KHAI IN NORTH CENTRAL LAOS. 4. COLLATERAL: COLLATERAL REPORTS "THE CHINESE COMMUNISTS CLAIM THE DESTRUCTION OF THEIR CULTURAL DELEGATION BUILDING AND THE KHANG KHAI BRANCH OF THE NEW CHINA NEWS AGENCY (NCNA). IN ADDITION HOUSING AND HELICOPTER LANDING FACILITIES FOR THE LAOS ICC WERE ALSO DESTROYED ACCORDING TO THE PEIPING downgrading and declassification CHARGE."' EXISTING COLLATERAL CAN NOT CONFIRM THE EXISTENCE OF AN ICC FACILITY AT THIS LOCATION. These notes have been prepared for briefing purposes only and should not be used for detailed analytical work. MISSION READOUT: PRE-STRIKE PHOTOGRAPHY OF THAT SEVERAL OF THE BUILDINGS WHICH SUSTAINED DAMAGE IN THE JUNE 1964 AIR STRIKE HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED, AND OTHERS (INCLUDING SEVERAL THAT WERE NOT DAMAGED) HAVE BEEN DISMANTLED. THE PATHET LAO HEADQUARTERS BUILDING HAS BEEN PARTIALLY DISMANTLED, AND NO APPARENT REPAIR OR RECONSTRUCTION OF COMMUNIST CHINA'S ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL MISSION IS NOTED. POST-STRIKE PHOTOGRAPHY OF REVEALS 25X1 APPROXIMATELY SIX DESTROYED BUILDINGS AND FIVE DAMAGED BUILDINGS (NOT ALL DEPICTED ON GRAPHIC) LOCATED WITHIN FOUR NEWLY CRATERED AREAS. THE LARGE VEHICLE PARK LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF THE INSTALLATION DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE DAMAGED. THE REPORTED LOCATION OF COMMUNIST CHINA'S ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL MISSION BUILDING DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE DAMAGE IN THE LATEST AIR STRIKE.
