These officers are being pre- pared for a variety of politico-military assignments both ?n the United States and abroad. As in the past, may I ask your assistance in arranging a b?_-ief- ing for these officers on the Central Intelligence Agency? Previous classes have singled out the CIA portion of the iiner- ary as most enlightening and informative and I hope the prfsent class may have the same opportunity to learn the Agency's iital role in the national intelligence effort. A member of my 'taff has contacted your Office of Training. With your approval. I will include the CIA presentation in our itinerary for 12. bpri_l from 0900 to 1700 hours. If your schedule permits, I know the officers will appreciate hearing your comments. We also have planned an informal cocktail party at the Fort McNair Officers' Open Mess on 10 April from 1930 to 2130 hcyurs. We will be honored if you and Mrs. Turner can join us and other Washington area friends of the Institute. Major Michael Legg, 919-396-5322/9106 will be happy to respond to any questions your staff may have. I sincerely hope that the CIA will remain an integral feature of the Washington Field Trip.
