Integration of the Information Processing and
Maintenance Systems
1. While attending the May-June. 1976 Midcareer Course,
25X1A and I discussed at some length the Agency's
information processing and maintenance efforts. Comments by
some of the guest speakers reinforced our concern that this
vital function must receive more attention., development, and.
management. A system which compliments rather than complicates
our. efforts as a professional intelligence agency and a respon-
sible, public organization must be developed.
2. Attached are my basic observations on the subject
25X1A and comments on those observations. Many of his
points are well taken and reflect his years of experience and
keen interest in the records management area. Both memoranda
are forwarded for your consideration.
