Electric Power Substation near Pruszkow Railroad Station
General Information
1. This substation was located at approximately 100 meters north
from the Pruszkow Railroad Station. It received 5,500 volts
of alternate current from the Pruszkow Thermal Power Plant,
through underground cables. The alternate current was trans-
formed here into direct current and served only the needs of
the Pruszkow Railroad Station; it supplied current for 50X1-HUM
traction as well as the station itself.
The substation occupied an area of approximately 45x30 meters
surrounded by a 1.60 meter-high wire fence; the actual sub-
station was inside a one-story high red brick building
approximately 25x12 meters. The type, size or origin of the
switches and transformers were not recalled by source; how-
ever, he believed he saw some English markings on them; they
were unidentifiable to him. 50X1-HUM

5. Figure 2, on page 5, is sketch of the
electric power substation near a Pruszkow Railroad
Station. Following is the legend to this sketch. Numbers
in parentheses below refer to the numbers on the sketch.
(2) Living quarters of the mechanic in charge of the
substation.
1) Entrance gate, a steel framed wire door approximately
1.60 meters high.

(3) Mechanic's desk, located right at the entrance of sub-
station (Point 9).
(4) Two converters from alternate current to direct current
that were manually started; type and other identification
data unknown to source.
(5) Instrument panels.

(6) Two or three step-down transformers of unidentified type.
(7) A small repair shop; further details unknown to source.
(8) Room containing batteries, approximately 3x4 meters. No
further details kno',n to source.
(9) Substation's entrance, a double winged door which source
believed was made of iron.
(10) Double-track electric railroad line of the WKD
(Waskotorowe Koleje Dojazip.- intra-urban narrow-gauge
lines formerly called EKD (Elektr czne Kole a Do azdowe -
Electric intra-urban lines). although
it was called W'D, the rails were of normal gauge.
