MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: CPD History Project
25X1A
1? telephoned this morning to say that his
group ha been busy with a number of special things and to ask
whether I could give him two or three weeks more on the 22 March
deadline for completion of all three chapters of the CPD History.
He said he has pretty well reworked the first chapter along lines
25X1 A suggested by the SSHO
25X1A and when that's ready he wants
to deliver it to
comments on chapters two and three.
2. I commented that it was my recollection that the SSHO
had asked for all three chapters to be resubmitted together and
said I thought that would be the best procedure. I also suggested
25X1A that not wait for typing of the first chapter before
resolving matters with on chapters two and three. 25X1A
I suggested further that i e problem was essentially one of
typing support we might be able to work out assistance in one way
or another.
3? then explained that the SSHO seemed to be
asking for examples and statistics on early contract operations
which simply were not available. He said he had reviewed some
30-35 documents identified by without 25X1A
kinds of early documentation t a were presumedtobe finding
therein.
25X1A agreed with that early documentation of the special
contract officer function might be very skimpy. I suggested that
25X1A he so advise if in fact there are no
or statistics to support the kinds of narrative examples which he
would like to A-

4. I told we felt it important to bring to
completion histories before the interruption of summer vacations,
etc? said he thought he could complete the CPD History
by the end of March and I agreed to extend the deadline until then.
