SUBJECT OP-13, Missing in Action -- People and
Policies, 1948-73
1. The subject history has been edited, retyped, and
approved for publication by the CIA History Staff. 25X1A
- the author, also had an opportunity to edit the final
copy prior to retyping. The final copy is being returned to
you for proof reading and for Mr. Janney's signature on the
title page of both Volume I and Volume II.
2. If Mr. Janney approves the report, it should then
be returned to me, Room 203 Key Building. Following final
corrections, we will reproduce, cover, bind, and disseminate
the history.
3. Retention copies of the history will be prepared
for the Directorate of Administration, the History Staff,
and the Office of Personnel. If the Office of Personnel so
requests, we will also prepare a copy for East Asia Division.
4. This history concludes OP's commitment to the
"catching up" phase of the Agency program which got into high
gear late in 1969. 1 have enjoyed the opportunity of working
with the many individual authors in OP, and I want to thank
you for your help over the years in prodding some of the more
reluctant contributors to more serious effort.
