SUBJECT: MIA, History Project

STATINTL 1. The SSHO telephoned me this afternoon to
STATINTL tell me that had assigned the MIA History Project
to a has visited expressing STATINTL
his feeling that he ought to be able to work full time on the
history as it will be very difficult for him to do the writing
STATINTL along with his regular job. said he had given- STATINTI
a suggested outline for the project.

personal view that this
project is quite important and ought to be completed as soon as
possible. He felt it particularly important to have the background
STATINTL facts straight if anyone should turn up from MIA. status.

3. Later- telephoned me. He said he is working in
RAD for and has been given responsibility for the
subject history project. He said he had talked with STATINTL
who had given him a copy of the Agency Historical Manual as a guide
and who also suggested that - might read the Retirement
History. mentioned that he had worked with and STATINTL
asked if I could send him a copy of the Retirement History for his
review.
4. I told- that we had one copy of the History in
the Office of Personnel. I agreed to loan it to him asking that he
STATINTL return it as soon as he has reviewed it.
5. said he wished he could have full time on the
project as he thought it would be very difficult to do the work
on the history project while doing his own job too.
