SUbjects Personnel for Pacific U/R3.
1. The Pacific UIRS is established at Camp Ritchie, Uaryland,
with a strength of ten officers and 36 enlisted mon. Of the prescribed
LI 8 WO strength of 18 officers and 38 enlisted men, there is still a
deficiency of eight officer? end two enlists-damn.
2. It is requested that the Chlaf, Training Branch, UM, provide
the additional required personnel as soon as practicable in order that
Pacific =13 can operate at maximum effectiveness as soon as possible.
The personnel must be able to read all types of Japanese eharacters
fluently.

Subject: Pacific M118.
1. The Pacific Military Intelligence Research Section (URS)
was established at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, on? September 1944. This
organization is under the control of the Commanding General, MITC, for
administration and discipline. It is under the control of the Chief,
MIS, for operations. Attention of all concerned is invited to Memoran-
dum For The Commanding General, MITC, Camp Ritchie, Maryland, subject,
"Pacific MIRS," dated 28 August 1944 and signed by the A. C. of S., 0-2,
MOS.
2. The Pacific MIRS is assigned to the
Unit, MIS.

will be approved by-the Chief, MIS, before being placed into effect.
