The Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, this headquarters, is designated to coordinate and supervise the exploitation of military intelligence targets in Japan and. Korea under existing War Department policies. 2. The exploitation of these targets and objectives will include coordination and utilization of certain general and technical intelligence agencies, viz: a. U. S. Technical Intelligence Depot. (Manila) b. 5250th Technical Intelligence Comoosite Unit. (Iranila) c. Field intelligence teams. (Japan) d. TIS Combined Document Center. (Eanila) Army, Corps and Division TIS field detachments. (Japan) f. Special staff sections, supervising "a" to "c". (Japan) g. Air and Navy technical units, analogous to "1 ', (Japan) h. Special technical missions, national or foreign. 3. Coordinating control and supervision over the various agencies interested in technical intelligence investigations will be e..ercised threugh'normal command and staff channels. 7ach agency, i.e., special staff section, AFPAC; Armies; separate Corps; CIYCFAC; F7AF; USASTAF; Allied agencies; and special missions represented in Japan and Korea will designate plenary representative g to form in thri office of Assi:tant Chief of Staff, G-2, this headquarters, a group, which, operating under his control, will provide the larger features of coordinAion and supervision over technical intelligence activities and prevent competitiv- duplication of effort, 4. TO expedite the conduct of these investigations; the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, is authorized to correspend directly with the heads of the various agencies mentioned in paragraph 3, or such represcntatives,as they may designate, on technical details. Direct correspondence between ? plenary representatives ana the heads of the agencies which they represent is authorized. e. To protect intelligence materiel and records, in limited numbers, against exploitation by a single research agenCy, their removal will be cleared through the Occupation Force Commander, in order to make these items accessible to other intelligence ag.TfIcj- f. The principle of reciprocal exchange of reports applies to all field technical agencies. All reports of technical intelligence relating to investigdtion6 in Japan or Korea will be cleared through the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, this headquarters, prior to being dispatched to locations without the area.
