I thank you very much for your letter of 3 June 1947.
An additional copy of the report 'Espionage - Sabotage -
Conspiracy" has been forwarded to your office.
While I am in no position to discuss officially matters
of OP-29D policy, I shall be very pleased to go into the
subject of coordination of captured documents and other
German sources with a representative of your office and
the Chief, Documents Branch. For this meeting I suggest

SUBJECT: German Doeumente on Russian Activities in the
?lead of Nuclear Phynics.
1. Such German intelligence files nn came into U.S. possersion during and after the
war, were sent to the German Military Document Section, ID, War Department. CIG will
take over the exploitation of this document center on 21 June 1947, but has never
reoeived any German intelligence files or documents.
2. The small number of German documents in the ebove collection which relate to
Soviet activities in the field of atomic energy have all been examined and exploited
by the Special Document Section, ID, WDOS (at Damp Holabird). These documents were
mainly general reports on Soviet scientific institutes, rather than discuarions of
nuclear physics. Some information wae also found on the location of radio-active
mineral deposits in the USSR.
3. It is believed that documents on this subject from the files of German
intelligence and scientific agencies were evacuated from the European theater by
