1. All exploitation work in FDD on the statistical tables
for economic information on China from the captured Japanese
documents has been completed.
2. A total of )4,!i88 tables have been processed by FDD.
Forty-nine (out of eighty-one) documents remain to be indexed
by OCD and 40 remain to be re-photographed by Reproduction.
3. Exploitation work was started on. 25 May 1953 and com-
pleted on 8 October 1953. Two FDD intelligence officers were
assigned to the project full time.
4. Documents were exploited on the basis of priority needs
by subject matter as indicated in requirements served on the
Division by ORR and periodic verbal instructions received from
of ORR.
5. It should be noted here that although it was initially
planned to have the actual translation done on contract, this
proved impractical. 159 tables were done on contract; the
remaining 4,329 were done in FDD.
