film in OTR.

Three completed Intensive Russian Reading Class V;
Class VI with one student began on 30 April.

6. The publications procurement budget allocation estimate
was prepared in coordination with 00/C by the FDD repre-
sentative for 00 on the Publications Procurement Committee and
forwarded through the Office of the AD/O to the CIA Library.
7. On request of the CIA Librarian, FDD started u survey to
provide a minimal retention schedule of its source publications to
conform with the need for space conservation in the plAnned new
building.
OPE.RATIOW
1. The O8th and 69th meetings of the 6ubcommittee for the
taploitation of Foreign Language Publications were held 6 and 20
April, respectively, and were concerned with the review of the
awtern tAirope program. The Communist Fur East program viii be
reviewed at the next meeting, 4 May.

2. Reference to the CTS Index prevented 87 cases of dupli-
cation totaling 3345 pages. This represents a saving of approxi-
mately S1o,500.
3. During the month the first iasuss of two scheduled summary
reports were pUblished: "Scientific Information Report' (semi-
monthly) and "Report on USSR Ministries" (semiannual).
4. At a meeting called by Management Staff with representatives
of OCR, 4.kift, USI, and OO it was agreed that the Scientific Insti-
tutes Locator File (SILO) developed by FDD would be maintained by
the Division and that the community be informed of its availability.
