1. As of 31 January 1954 the total personnel on duty was-
2. Two sections of a five-hour lectur
Officers on Marxism-Leninism, conducted by 25X1A
were completed. Four more sections are scheduled for Fe ruary Mand
March.
3. The second FDD Reports Writing Course (ten hours) began on
5 January 1954. , 11
1. The seventeenth and eighteenth meetings of the Subcommittee
on Exploitation of Foreign Language Publications were held on 8 and
29 January 1954, respectively. The examinations of the exploitation
of Chinese publications were completed. The nineteenth meeting,
scheduled for 5 February 1954, will discuss exploitation of scientific
and technical foreign language publications.

for reports on Bulgarian or anizati ns personalities.
25X1A From for FDD support in providing Soviet and
Satellite background material for Propaganda Analysis.
3. Liaison activity:
Major Evan T. Hopkins, Chief, Documents Services Branch,
Technical Services Division, ATIC, visited FDD to confer on the
possibility of FDD providing about 20,000 pages per year on trans-
lation service for ATIC. No conclusion was reached and the matter
is pending subsequent discussions.
