1. Due to lack of interest shown in subject lists it is felt
that too meich time of personnel and money is being expended, is their
production. Further, it is believed that more efficient and immsdi..
ate use of abstracts, ordinarily appearing in subject listsf may be
made by their immediate inoorporatiena- is the Branch files for use in
connection with the overall exploitation program and for use there,
if desired, by err of the IAN agencies.
2. Accordingly, concurrence is requested to the effect that
lack of requirements warrant disoontinuanoe of Foreign Documents
Branch Accession Lists of oriental documents (except those having a
"special or current interest").
S. Further in accordance with paragraph 3(b) of CIG Yemorandult
dated 31 December 1948, subjects "Controls and Functions of the
Washington Document Center" it is requested that ODD tabs appropri-
ate action to eliminate publication of aforementioned lists and that
recon nendatin oontasned in paragraph 4a(5) of Report by Requirements
Branch," OCD, enclosed in ODD Yemorandua dated 10 January 1947, sub?.
