1. This office has been informed that no action has been taken
to implement the project for a complete bibliography of current Soviet
periodicals, responsibility for which was charged to the office of
Operations by the action of the projects Review Committee in Project
00-20 which was approved by the Director on 23 December 19147, and
published to your Offices by memorandum dated 26 December 1917.
that the Foreign Documents Branch, Office of Operations, should be
able to undertake this additional responsibility on a continuing basis 2 5X1A
and that the project could be assigned a high priority to allow FDB
to keep the material up to date*

3. In view of the fact that your offices have been apparently
waiting for further instructions prior to implementing this project,
it is desired that immediate action be taken to put into effect the
approved action of the projects Review Committee on Project 00-20
dated 26 December 1947, and that a statement of requirements be pro-
vided the Office of Operations by the Office of Reports and Estimates
at the earliest possible date as a basis for the preparation of the
bibliography in question.
