1. The Chief of Station at has need for taking language lessons
primarily as a preliminary operational device to become acquainted with personnel
in the area who will have future operational value.
2. In addition to the operational value of this procedure there is the long-
range value to' the organization of having a tested, _el.iahle individual acquire
the languages himself.

4. The cost will be approximately 433 a month.
5. It is requested that approval be granted for this expenditure for a
period of one year, subject to further consideration at the end of this period.
