1. It is requested that approval be granted fo/ Mr. _
25X1A9a Operations Officer, to take Arabic
25X1A6a language lessons in from a private tutor at a cost not to
exceed $250 per calendar year for the period 1 January to
31 December 1952.
25X1A9a 2. Mr. - has been taking three Arabic lessons per
25X1A6a week in at an approximate cost of $4.00 per week since
1 August 1950. The knowledge gained through the lessons thus far
25X1A9a taken by Mr. has proved indispensable to some of the
operations handled by him. It is anticipated that his further
improvement in the language will increase his effectiveness and
result in a direct benefit to the United States Government.
