SUBJECT : Request for Authorization for Language Lessons
Mi0RANDUM FOR : OSO TRAINING OFFICER
1. It is requested that authorization be granted to permit
Chief of Station now at to take 25X1A6a
panic essons at Government expense abroad.
2. In accordance with a memorandum to all Foreign Division
Chiefs dated 27 April 1949, it has been determined in this case:
a. that the employee should receive this training under
secure circumstances for reasons of immediate
operational necessity;
b. that the cost to the Government will not exceed
$250.00 during any fiscal year for Mr. -; and
c. that such language lessons will directly benefit the
Government.
25X1A9a 3. Since Mr.- is in charge of operational activities in the
25X1A6a station, it is considered essential that he obtain a reasonable
degree of fluency in the Spanish language.
