The first semester (7 weeks) of the American University course has been completed and 45 of.the original allotment ex- pended. 25X1 A9e 3. It is requested that the student be allowed to transfer to the Borras Language School, 1611 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., for an intensive 25 hour course in conversational- The cost of 25X1A this instruction at $3.50 per hour will be $87.50. This will nec- essarily mean an additional allocation of $42.50. 4. It was originally believed that the student would have sufficient time to master the language using the conventional approach under standard university teaching methods. However, the imni.nence of overseas assignment has made it necessary to accomplish a mastery of conversational within a very short time. 5. It is not contemplated that there should be any cover difficulties. The information requirements of such a language school are usually of such a general character that the candidate should have little difficulty in meeting them with his present cover. 25X1A 25X1A9a 25X1A Dist.
