Mr. Maury:
Bob Bannerman called regarding S. 1035. He said in reviewing
the DOD letter on the bill he noted that they had made some suggestions
for a possible fall back position with legal justifications. Bob wonders
if we shouldn't have a small task force take another look at the bill
to determine whether we could suggest alternatives (short of complete
exemption) which we might be able to live with in the event the Committee
is not disposed to grant the Agency fullexemption. I told Bob that
certainly this was worth considering and that I would discuss it with
you and John Warner and be back in touch.
