, who ca a to alert us that the Ervin bill, having to do with
o ygrap and constitutional rights of civilian employees of the executive
ranch (S. 1688, H. R. 1281), was going into markup at 2:00 p.m. today.
I explained to 0 that was on the Hill this afternoon, but th26X1
we would try to get in touch with him in case he might be able to stop by and
find out what had transpired in markup.
2? Received a call from Claudia Henagan,
in the district office of Representative John Breaux, (D. , La. ), requesting
personnel information, specifically the location of the nearest regional
recruiter. I took her number to call her back after checking on it. I
called Person.nel.and they said to get the constituent's :name, address and
phone number so the I recruiter could get in touch directly.
I called Ms. Henagan back and relayed the information,
e regional recruiter, will be in touch.
3. Called Marcia MacNaughton, Senate
.i. overnment Operations Committee staff, to determine the status of S. 3418,
a bill to establish a Federal Privacy Board. Miss MacNaughton said markup
on a new version of the bill (Confidential Committee Print No. 5) would
begin tomorrow.
4.1 Called Helen Mattas, Staff Assistant,
+-Ious?e Foreign Affairs Committee, to request a copy of the amendment by
Representative Michael Harrington (D. , Mass.) on CIA covert action which
was offered and defeated during last. Thursday's markup session of the House
ssistance Act. The copy was made available.
