SUBJECT: Operational Profile - SOC 1-77

1. The object of the attached profile is to display graphically the
information elicited from the students in our Operational Profile Question-
naire.
2. The Profile serves various purposes, principal among which are:
a. To highlight specific topics on which individual students
might make useful presentations in student seminars.
b. To identify the areas of operational experience and skill
in which the group as a whole may be discernibly weak or strong.
Prepared at the outset of the course, this information can
influence to some degree the focus and emphasis of the training
we offer in the course. As you know this course is evolutionary
in nature and changes each time it is given.
c. To facilitate comparison of the students, and to delimit
a profile of the group as a whole, for various reporting purposes.
d. To provide staff instructors, branch chiefs, and especially
visiting guest speakers a quick overview of the class, complete with
readily discernible clues to the strengths, weaknesses, and back-
ground experience of the group.
