This is the fourth report from this S urce and further

1. General
Uprawlentschesky is a small village built on hilly woodland and
located on the east bank of the Volga River on the main Besemjanka-
Krasnaja-Glinka highway, Soviet civilians told me that the town
was founded in 1938 and was to be the administrative center for
the planned Volga River dam constructionq. the first preparations
for this project were made here. Zavod #2 was the only industrial
installation in town. Uprawlentschesky is under the administrative
province of Krasnaja-Glinka? in 1948, for example, zuch documents
as birth certificates were still being stamped "Krasn4a-Gl1nkan,
During my stay in Uprawientschesky I believe that the Soviet
population was approximately three thousand,

sky (scales 2 cm m 100 meters) on which the following points are .

This section consizted of a. barrack and several
gasoline tanks, these tanks were partially under-
ground, Fuel was shipped in tank-trucks to Zavod #2
(point 30), a distance Of approximately 2i km. The
