It was in poor condition, although it was the main thorough-
fare in this area. The traffic consiated mainlg of trucks.

Institute 88. This sandstone building was about 25 x 20 x 15
meters, had two stories, and had a hipped roof covered with
slate. It contained the administrative offices of Plant 88
as well as the offices of Institute 88. It also contained 50X1-HUM

booths for the sale of clothing, foodstuffs, etc. A per-
mit was required to sell things here, but there were many

Point 32 Design office. This brick building, 20 x 15 x 15 meters,
had two stories. It had a low pitch gable roof covered with
tarpaper. It housed German design engineers during most
of the time from December 1947 to March 1948. GROETTRUP5ox1 -HUM
had his office in here, as well as MYRACH, JASPER, BAHR, .
REBITZKY, and WUTTKE. Only a few Soviets had offices here.
