A complex of new barracks has been erected on the autobahn between Langenber g and

Gera. The whole area is closed off with barbed wire an

colonel, a man from Weimar. There are three special units of 60 men each, equipped
with mortars. A commando of the ready Voikspolizei from Lobau has been brought to
the same place, 240 men strong and e u_ p iaed with 105 mm howitzers.
Each year 256 Volkspolizei are bein.,w trained in the Volkspol3.zei steno raphers'
school at Holzdorf near Weimar as Russian stenographers. They are also trained in
geography and accounting. Each month 10 men are given special courses in tactics
at the same place.
