1. Soviet infantry and motorized instructional units are installed at Shumen (now
called Kolarovgrad), where there is also a complete staff organization. This
old Bulgarian town R.,has been turned into a Soviet military instructional base,
meant to standardize Bulgarian armaments and to train instructor personnel.

various new arms.
The Shumen (Kolarovgrad) base extends its activities over the entire northeastern
elope of the, Balkan Mountains, across the plain of th

port of Varna,(now called Stalin).
Also under the control of Soviet experts is the national General Direction of
Military Propaganda. This was recently established in Sofia. Further details
