1. Four gear trains with couplings for capacities up to 1,500 hp. were manufactured
in August 1953 by the Krupp-Gruson works at Magdeburg as part of a Soviet
reparations order. Two more of the same kind were manufactured in September.
The;;-.e gears are not intended for the Soviet Union, but for the Soviet German zone,
The gears had to be rebuilt several times, because of damaging efrects on the
couplings and gears caused by the play between the axles and frames.
2. Toothed wheel gears are manufactured for locomotives. The production of tank
turrets has been suspended for several months. The production of sprocket wheels
and track links continues. However, of 126 tons of sprockets manufactured for
various uses in. September, a large part were returned because the toothed rims
were either too weak or too brittle.
