1. The Soviet freighter Slobodka entered Turnu Severln Harbor on 26 Aug 53 and tied
up at pier 8 at 7 p,m, It was loaded with tanks and. armored cars for the Rumanian
Arrmy
2. The following were observed during unloading on 27 Aug 53: 12 Type BA 6-ton
armored cars; 12 type BT,10-ton armored cars; 12 type T-26 about 10-ton armored
cars; four type' ?T equipped with flame throwers and smoke projectors; eight
type T-50; six type T-34/85; six type KW I,1., with 152 mm guns.
3. The vehicles were not new and probably in need of repairs, since they did not go
aboard railroad cars under their on power, but were towed. On being loaded
they were sent to Toplita, where a repair station for tanks has been set up.
4. It is probable that they are intended for,the Rumanian Army, since they were taken
over by a group of Rumanian officers.
