The barracks is near the road that connects Dvory with Karlovy Vary, and about 5 km from Karlovy Vary, 25X1 is occupied by a motorized artillery regiment with- 25X113 it is under the divisional command at Karlovy Vary which 25X18 has the The regiment was organized in the autumn of 1951 in Brno, .The staff personnel and part of the officers were detailed from an artillery regiment there. The men wear red insignia with black edges. 3. Commanders Capt. Alois Teinl, an intelligent man, formerly a metal worker, a convinced Communist 38 years old. Political officer: 1st Lt, (fnu) a p, much feared, a terrorist and former laborer,, 26 years old. The staff. consists of 13 officers, 16 noncommissioned officers and 35 to 40 men. Regimental troops are a reconnaissance squad, a heavy AA machine gun platoon, a communications platoon, and a ranging squad. The quartermaster section has 8 to 10 writers, 3 cooks, 7 or 8 hand workers and 28 drivers. The two sections each have 480 to 490 men, each with a staff platoon of 50 men, a communications platoon, and three batteries of 140 men each. Each battery includes a radio platoon and a staff platoon. The regiment now has 27 A/T guns, 76.2 nnn, four to a battery. There are other guns in reserve. 5. All guns are towed by Wiepon prime movers. The regimental staff auto park con- sists of 10 passenger cars and 12 trucks. The troops have 5 passenger ears and 38 trucks. 6, Officers are all Czechs; 70 percent of the men are Czechs, 20 percent, Slovaks, and the remainder Hungarian. Clothing and food have steadily grown worse. The men became discontented, and after a careful examination, there was some improve- ment during the summer of 1953. Training is strict and thorough.
