The barracks at Dvory where this regiment is stationed, consists of a two-story staff building-, 20 by 30m',{-.n ,-shaped main building, 50 by 50 m; four qurirters for enlisted men pith four rooms each and space for 20 men in each room, 12 by 40 m; four barr...cks of 12 by 50 in, each with 10 rooms, each room with space- for 20 men; a kitchen; a dining hall; a guardhouse, 10 by 15 m; a depot for weapons, clothing and food; a technical maga,ine; a hospital; a one-story gaar.age, 20 by 70 m; a garage 10 by 40 m. 2. The regimentts During the summer of 1953 the regiment !ad 2,300 men. They weea black shoulder boards with a red border. Three-quarters of the mcr: belong to the classes of 1930 to 1U2, the remaincihar to thosu of 19RB to 193.... The regiment spent all summer j195 in camp. 3. The commander is ;toff Cniptatn Karel Dusil, a Communist Party member who was staff sergeant -in the old army, 45 years old. The adjutant is 1:>t .,t. Ivan "chmida, 32 years old. Lt. The lst Battalion is a replacement battalion set up only during the summer, to which reservists were detailed for refresher training during the summer of 1953. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Battalions are regular battalions, each with three rifle companies and a machine gun company, each company having 80 to 100 men. The moehi.ne gun company has 12 "ods machine guns; the rifle companies are armeu with 40 Skoda, Soviet-type rifles, 10 long- range sniper rifles, 35 machine-pistols.and four light machine guns. Commander of the 3rd Battalion is 1st Lt.imitrov Kozel, 36 years old, a heavy drinker, who is hated by the political officer, but is protected by the fact that he is an active communist. The 5th Battalion is a reserve unit which is called into existence only in the summer and for training. 6. The regiment has 13 to 15 passenger cars and 47 to 50 various trucks.
