1. Under the direction of Chief Engineer Cholet, the arsenals at Bourges, the
Maritime prefects of Brest and Lorient, naval artillery officers have been
carrying out constant experiments with guided missiles from the artillery
range at Plouharnel (Norbihan). The missiles are fired from Plouharnel and
Their point of impact is in the dunes on the coast of La Vendee, north of
the Sables dtOlonne.
2. The line of fire extends for 150 kilometers. It passes over the Q.u:iberon
Peninsula and the Islands of Houat and Hoedic and somewhat to the northeast
of the Ile dtYeu.
3. I"'urther experiments have now had to be postponed because of protests by
the coastal population of Morbihan. The natlonal defense authorities hope
to overcome this opposition, though they will reserve the right to suspend
fire during the summer.
