The Methods of the Rumanian MAX, or militia, troops, and the regulations
them have been cop ed from the Soviet MVD troops. governing

5. The troops of the. MAX includes
a. The Graniceri, or Frontier Guards
b. Interior security troops
C. Fire brigade troops
d. Aviation units of the MAI troops. These are under the command of Colonel
Constantin Negulici.
6. Strength of the MAI troops has now reached 30 battalions, or a force of about
120,000 men. This does not include the "indicators," that is, individuals attached
for service outside the cadre. All these troops and their staff are under the
Political Direction of the Interior Ministry.
