A deposit of afiiznthus (fine, silky asbestos) has been found, immediately adjoining
the town of Mem+O~tiagrad, , in the Rhodope ba0ine Work on the development of this
mine is in the hands of specialists, engineers from the USSR.
Exploitation will be in the hands of a Bulgarian-Soviet company called "GORUPSO".
This stands for Company for the Exploitation of the Subsoil Resources of Bulgaria.
