1. The Yolkspolizei regiment at Oranienburg received six more self-propelled gun
i
carriages, model 131 85, on 5 lay 54. They are of Soviet wanufacture. There
ire about 1,800 glen in the barracks at,Oranienburg. About 300 of then belong
to a unit at HlnMberg, near Berlin, and they are being trained with tanks at
Oranleoburg. a platoons,fron Oranienbimmrg are being transferred at the end
of Nay to the uer Heath for trench combat training. The regiment is to be
equipped with no* Soviet machine guns in place of the Oeral.n and Soviet weapons
it has been using.- A number of officers from Oranienburg have been it Indochina
fir about two months'. Among them is a certain^Comeissar ffn3 Tietz,'a native of
Berlin.
2. Three thousand pairs of rubber beets for the ailitary Telk'spolizei have been
delivered from Czechoslovakia, to the supply depot at Bad Schandau.
3. The *elkspelisei artillery unit at G11weno, Brandenburg, received 12 tractors on
i as 54. They are of Hungarian aanufactum. The unit will new get Soviet 150
M gune?
4. In 1953, 4,522 . Colkspolisei ambers were discharged on grounds of met" fitness .
This includes both the military and the "blue" Volkspelisei.

The armored forces of the military Volkspolisei on RUgen get ammunition for their
tank guns from Poland. It is brought by Seepolizei vessels from Miedzyzdige5_ii7where
there is a Polish army ammunition depot. Temporarily, ammunition nm ocurl u-,?..Laeu
from Rummelsburg, also of Polish manufacture. New it is being brought direct by
ship to Lobos.

A military Yelkspolisei infantry unit of 312 son is stationed at Pinnow. They are
mostly recruits being trained as non-cons. The signal troops formerly at Pinnow
have been transferred to Bggesin. It is reported that an antiaircraft unit shortly
will be transferred to Pinnow.
Bight Yolkspolizei men have been attached to the radiation research division of
the Nedisin-Biolo$ Institut at Berlin-Duch since 24 Nay 54. They are being trained
in the use of (miner apparatus and spinthariscepes and given theoretical instruction
in radioactive el nts. The men belong to the Cottbus air police regiment.
