1. The infantry barracks is near the railroad station in the center of town on
Andrassy ut. It is an old barracks, which was renovated in 1951. It is now
occupied by a rifle battalion of about 600 am., The battalion has 47 - AT
guns and 50 as and 82 in mortars. There are about 30 Raba and Csepel trucks,
5 jeeps and 15 or 20 special trucks, of various types.
2. The airfield is about 3 lar east of the town north of the road to Gyula. An
ClimE (national Sp25X1tlying Club) flying school is at the field. Between?April
and October there are.about 150 persons at the school. They work with gliders
and motored training planes, and the best flyers may enter the air force, for
which they go to 3z4kesfeh4rv[r to complete their training. The field has seven
gliders and five Bucker-Bestmann training planes.
