1. The former Tuerr Istran barracks, Grantos utca 2, is now occupied by a
Geehnlcsl battalion which is dtrectly under the divisional coaatand at
Kaloosa. It consists-of a staff company, two regular companies whose men
have been In service at least a year, three training companies of men
called into service in the fail of 1954, and a training company for Ms.
2. The battalion is ecruigped with:15- assault boats of light metal with outboard
motors 6o rubber bcatsl 25 wooden boats with oars, bridging materialg two
automatic pile drives" with benzol engines; six steel bridge parts,
8 meters long;-200 wooden bridge parts, 8 meters long] five Csonka motor
saws, 60 wooden pontoons in very good condition, twenty 3-ton Csepel Diesel
trucks; ten 3-ton 3I3 trucks; ten 1 1/2-ton Dods whippet trucks; four
personnel carriers;.five metorcyct1e .
3. The men of the old companies are equipped with machine pistols, the recruits
with rifles. Bach company has a machine gun platoon with three-light
air-cooled machine guns.
4. At the sane barracks there is an A/T unit, equipped with eleven 76.2 mm
A/T guns of Soviet type.
