1. I have tried to keep a careful record of the actions that you said
you might consider taking to improve intelligence collection and analysis
in the wake of the Cuban Brigade episode, as well as others that have been
suggested. Some may be relevant to our meeting tomorrow with NFAC and then
Admiral Inman, you might also want to discuss them at a staff meeting next
week. (S)
2. Actions you promised Senate Foreign Relations Committee:
--To provide a periodic update of intelligence on the Brigade.
OLC considers that this handled vi the NID. Do you want
them to receive a copy of the Syn psis prepared for the
President? (S) Yes No
--To leave no stone unturned in examining the possibility that
Soviet combat forces could be present in other countries
(e.g., Ethiopia). Arnold has such an effort underway now. (S)
