THE DIRECTOR OF CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE
Concerning the export of U.S. goods to the USSR in connection
with the Olympics, the President has decided that a public call
should be issued for companies to comply with the boycott of
the Olympics by withdrawing their products related to the:
Olympics from export to Moscow (option 1). Specific regulations
prohibiting these exports will be held for now and issued later
if they are deemed necessary or desirable. State should ensure
that U.S. allies are notified of this decision before the
public announcement is. made. (C)
